Instructing us to issue Letter Before Action

Letters Before Action Charge only £2.00 (plus vat).

At the Letter Before Action stage the process could not be simpler, we only need a minimum of information from you.

The name of the debtor.
The address of the debtor.
The amount owed to you.
An alternative to a Letter Before Action is a Late Payment Demand that allows you to claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, provided both parties were acting in the course of a business.

Instructing us to issue Late Payment Demand

Late Payment Demand £5.00 (plus vat).

The Late Payment of Commercial Debt Regulations 2002 allow you recover interest at the annual rate of 8% above base rate for each day each one of your invoices is overdue. You are also entitled to late payment compensation for each invoice overdue. To make this demand correctly we need to know from you the unpaid amounts, due dates and numbers of each overdue invoice. You can give us this information online through our sister site and instruct us there. The compensation due to you foreach overdue invoice is as follows:

SIZE OF UNPAID DEBT
Up to £999.99
£1,000 to £9,999.99
£10,000 or more

COMPENSATION ARISING FROM LATE PAYMENT
£40.00
£70.00
£100.00
You can not rely on these regulations if your terms and conditions already make provision for interest.

ENFORCEMENT

Where a judgment is obtained and normal execution by the Sheriff/Bailiff is either inappropriate or proves unsuccessful an alternative method of enforcement may be pursued.
